So maybe you don’t have quite everything on your back to school checklist in your summer sunned little hands, but don’t sweat. Intel AppUp Developer Challenge Contest The Intel AppUp Developer Challenge Contest is available to students who are at least 18 years of age. You must join the Intel AppUp developer program and submit an app in one or more of the categories listed on the sponsor’s website.
Award: Trips to the South Pole, Russia and Comic-Con, the chance to fly former military jets or up to $50,000 in cash.

AFSA Second Chance Scholarship Contest The AFSA Second Chance Scholarship Contest is open to students pursuing a college degree or trade school education. You must read the “Fire Sprinkler Essay” then take a ten – question multiple choice test to be eligible for this award. For each question answered incorrectly, you will be given one more chance at the end of the exam to answer those questions correctly. A total of five entries into the drawing is possible if you answer all ten questions correctly.
Award: $20,000 and $5,000

Lim, Ruger and Kim Scholarship The Lim, Ruger and Kim Scholarship is available to law students who demonstrate leadership potential to serve the Asian Pacific American community. You must be in good standing at your law school and submit an essay and letters of recommendation to be eligible for this award. Selection criteria includes, but is not limited to: demonstrated commitment to and interest in pro bono, public interest and/or public service legal work; financial need; leadership potential; maturity and responsibility; and commitment to serving the needs of the Asian Pacific American community.

Raymond Davis Scholarship The Raymond Davis Scholarship is available to full-time undergraduate and graduate students studying photographic or imaging science or engineering. You must have completed at least two years of study to qualify for this award.

Siemens Competition The Siemens Competition is open to high school students in the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Wake and Midway Islands, and the Marianas. Students are encouraged to do research in math, science, or technology; giving young scientists the opportunity to present their research to leading scientists in their field. Three Hundred projects are recognized as Semifinalists. Regional Finalists are awarded a trip to compete at one of six regional competitions. Individuals submitting projects must be seniors at the time of the deadline; team applicants made up of two or three students may be freshman, sophomores, juniors, or seniors.

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship is available to undergraduate students at an institution of higher education in the United States. You must be applying to or be accepted for a program of study abroad that is eligible for credit by your home institution and be receiving federal Pell Grant funding during the academic term of your application. You must also be a U.S. citizen to be eligible for this award.

Excellence in the Sciences Scholarship The Excellence in the Sciences Scholarship is available to students who are majoring in one of the sciences.
