Over 800 backpacks will be given out at Alderman George A. Cardenas Immunization Back to School Event that will take place Saturday, August 20th. Like every year, the fair will be located in front of Alderman Cardenas 12th Ward Public Service Office from 10am to 2p.m. Aside from the free school supplies the fair will also include dental screenings, physicals, immunizations, free hair cuts, and vision screenings.

“I am glad to be able to help over 800 kids by giving them the supplies and physicals necessary to be ready for the new school year, it is important that our kids have the adequate tools to do great in school,” expressed Alderman Cardenas. The event is proudly sponsored by McDonalds, Walmart, Comed, Aldi, Walgreens, Marquette Bank, New York Life, Pilsen Wellness Center, Buena Vista Optical, Taqueria Los Comales, Saint Anthony Hospital, Telemundo, and the City of Chicago.
