US Treasurer Rosie Rios Kicks-Off World’s Fair of Money in Chicago

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - Local NewsUS Treasurer Rosie Rios helped kick-off the 120th anniversary of the American Numismatic Association (ANA) World’s Fair of Money with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, Aug. 16 at the Donald E. Stevens Convention. “This is the second year that I have participated in the ANA annual convention,” said US Treasurer Rosie Rios. “As Treasurer of the United States, I have direct oversight of the BEP, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing of the U.S. Mint and I think this is a great way for the treasury department to have a relationship with those stake holders who support our mission.”

The showcase included multi-million dollar exhibits including an exclusive look of the Gold Rush-era 1849-dated “Double Eagle” and other historic gold coins from the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. “I think this is fantastic. My background is in economic development real estate and investment management. So for me, issues with Main Street are very important to me, they have always been important to me.
