On Thursday, Sept. 15, Berwyn Police Department officers were on patrol when they conducted a traffic stop on a green 1997 Jeep Wrangler for a minor traffic offense. Pursuant to that traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle evaded questions, which caused suspicion. Upon further investigation by the officers, over $300,000 was located inside the vehicle and subsequently recovered. The recovered currency is believed to be proceeds of illegal drug sales. The Berwyn Police Department is continuing to investigate the driver of the vehicle and the origin of the recovered currency.
