Senator Dick Durbin was awarded the International Family Planning Hero Award from the United Nations Foundation and Planned Parenthood for his commitment to women’s health care. Representatives from the United Nations Foundation, Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Planned Parenthood of Illinois presented the award to Senator Durbin at a ceremony at the Chicago Cultural Center Monday morning.

The International Family Planning Hero Award was established by the UN Foundation and Planned Parenthood to honor congressional leaders who champion support for the world’s most vulnerable women and young people.
