The 2011 Winners for the Verizon Latino Business Series’ Nueva Latina Estrella Award were Laura Flores, architect, Ghafari Associates (Business), Juana Ballasteros, Executive Director, Greater Humboldt Park Community (Community Service), and Grisel Gamboa – Project Manager, Eight Bit Studios (Technology).
One Nueva Latina from each category will be awarded $1,000 and a Verizon Wireless 4G LTE smartphone. Winners will be announced at the 8th annual “Global Latino Fest” celebration in Chicago, formally known as “Vive la Hispanidad,” on October 12, 2012. Nominations will be reviewed and winners selected by an independent committee of business leaders from a variety of industries who make up the “Global Latino Fest” Honorary Committee.
