A single white tent amid a field of pink says it all. It is here where the memories of lives taken by breast cancer are solemnly remembered. The Remembrance Tent, as known by event participants, is also a stark, visual reminder of the reason why nearly 1,200 individuals walked 60 miles over the past three days in the 2012 Susan G. Komen Chicago 3-Day. Together, these women and men raised more than $3.4 million for breast cancer research, scientific programs and community-based breast health and education programs —efforts they hope will end breast cancer forever and provide everyone with the lifetime they deserve.
