- State Representative Lisa Hernandez and Central Dental Associates bring you Give a Kid a Smile Day. On Friday, Feb. 1st families are encouraged to bring their children to Central Dental Associates, 5539 W. Cermak Rd., Cicero, for a free dental screening and a chance to meet the Tooth Fairy. - Cook County Assessor Joseph Berrios wants to remind senior citizen homeowners that they have until Wednesday, Feb. 6th, to return their Senior Exemption applications. Seniors may download a form at www.cookcountyassessor.com. Seniors can also call 312-443-7550 and request a form be mailed to them.
- ComEd’s Smart Home Showcase will provide free, smart home makeovers/energy efficiency overhauls to four lucky winners. Eligible customers must submit an essay of no more than 500 words explaining why they would benefit from a smart home makeover, a photo supporting their explanation, and a statement indicating they have read and understand the contest rules to SmartHomeShowcase@ComEd.com. Entries will be accepted until Thursday, Jan. 31st.
- Latina Smart has extended their internship program an additional two weeks! Latina Smart is calling all university students majoring in communications, public relations, business management, marketing, fashion and retail. Over the next two weeks, students can submit their resume and cover letter to www.kmart.com/latinasmart for a 10-week paid internship opportunity at the Sears Holdings Corporation in Hoffman Estates, IL. Deadline for submissions is February 15th.
