Mary Ellen Podmolik from the Chicago Tribune was honored with NHS’ Community Impact Award for Excellence in Journalism. As a reporter and columnist covering the local housing market, Mary Ellen established herself as an authoritative voice on the latest developments in housing, from federal policy to local realities.
NHS also honored the Home Depot Foundation with the Community Impact Award to recognize the Foundation’s role in rebuilding Chicago’s neighborhoods.
Ed Hinsberger, Director of Multifamily Housing in Chicago’s Regional office of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) was awarded the Gale Cincotta Community Visionary Award in recognition of his outstanding career in public service. NHS established the Gale Cincotta Community Visionary Award to recognize outstanding leadership in the effort to rebuild neighborhoods.
