Cyber Bullying is becoming more and more of a problem in our society, said 24th District State Representative Lisa Hernandez. Incidents, studies show, of cyber bullying are increasing with people using the Internet and social networks like Twitter, texting and Facebook to bully your children. In some cases, the bullying can transform into physical violence.
Hernandez is hosting a community forum on Tuesday August 27 at Riverside Brookfield High school for residents of the 24th Illinois House District and the region to join in a community-wide discussion exploring how serious the problem is and how it can be addressed. “We’re going to discuss how to recognize if your child is the victim of cyber bullying. Parents need to understand how this works. It’s not like in the old days when it involved a child on the street corner or the play lot at school bullying your son or daughter,” said Hernandez.
