Women in Film Chicago (WIFC) will hold its signature gala this year at 6p.m. on October 16, 2013 at the Museum of Broadcast Communications (360 N. State Street).

Known nationally as the FOCUS Achievement Awards Gala, the event provides an opportunity to recognize the careers of local and national honorees. Each nominee has made considerable contributions in the areas of film, television, theater, digital media, advertising and on-screen media.

This year, Women in Film Chicago will honor local superwomen Lisa Weigand, Director of Photography for Chicago Fire; Ky Dickens, Director of Sole Survivor; and Katy Mindeman, Sound Designer/Engineer at Particle Audio.

This evening gala benefits and strengthens the work of WIFC by supporting the careers of women in the content creation industries while building encouragement and recognition within the greater Chicago media arts community.
