Bethel New Life and The PrivateBank have announced their third entrepreneurship training program, which is designed to help entrepreneurs on Chicago’s west side operate their businesses successfully.
“We are pleased to announce the launch of the third training class for West Side entrepreneurs. Access to resources, capital and know-how is often what is needed to convert those would be entrepreneurs to actual business owners,” President and Chief Executive Officer of Bethel New Life Lori Vallelunga said.
The free 14-week program is designed to help in the early start-up stages of developing a business and established owners with businesses less than five years old. The main focus is on the feasibility of the business, the owner’s management and marketing strategies, and a financial analysis.
Primary consideration will be given to Chicago west side residents who have plans to locate their business office within Austin, Humboldt Park, West Garfield Park, East Garfield Park, North Lawndale, and South Lawndale. Secondary consideration may be given to applicants from other nearby geographic locations or businesses that have the potential to positively impact a low to moderate income community.
The PrivateBank will operate and manage a microloan fund pool specifically for the program graduates. Loans will range from $10,000 for start-ups to a maximum of $25,000 for qualifying existing business, although in some cases a loan may exceed this amount. Final decisions for the microloan fund will be made by the bank.
Thirty entrepreneurs will be selected to participate in the competitive program. Interested entrepreneurs should visit www.bethelnewlife.org/etp to learn more and apply.
