This year in celebration of Mexican Independence Day, we put a spotlight on two individuals who have committed their time to helping others and raising awareness to causes near and dear to their hearts. From State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez, who has spent her career protecting the rights of citizens, to Chicago Police Officer Lourdes Nieto, who in her spare time informs residents about human trafficking.
