Fit Club (fitclubdepot.com), located at 6936 Windsor Ave, offers a place to meet, find inspiration and get fit with small group training. Classes are kept small to allow for more focused attention and individualized fitness plans are included in membership. In partnership with the City of Berwyn and Berwyn Development Corporation (BDC), Fit Club held a grand opening celebration on September 30th. Fit Club began in Tomassetti’s garage about six months after her move to Berwyn in 2014. She began to invite others in her neighborhood to join her in her workouts, and to her surprise, many took her up on that offer. What started out as a group of strangers quickly grew into friendships that developed outside of the garage. She discovered that the fellowship found in a smaller group setting created a solidarity that kept everyone inspired to keep coming back. As her following grew, the logical next step for Fit Club was to open a storefront in Berwyn’s Depot District, extend membership to others and give them access to a personal trainer at a fraction of the cost. Tomassetti is a Central YMCA qualified fitness and yoga instructor, Les Mills® certified BodyPump™, CXWORX™ and GRIT™ instructor, NASM-certified personal trainer, Precision Nutrition coach, and is currently undertaking study toward a degree in Sports Medicine. Fit Club classes and training are by appointment, with times ranging from 5:00 am – 9:00 pm weekdays and 7:00 am – 10:00 am weekends, as well as special events and workshops taking place from noon Saturdays.
