Chicago Aldermen John Arena, 45th Ward, Carlos Ramirez-Rosa, 35th Ward, and Nick Sposato, 38th Ward, along with the Chicago Teachers Union and the Service Employee International Union (SEIU) Illinois State Council announced their support on Tuesday for state Rep. Jaime Andrade’s, D-Chicago, reelection, citing his resolve and efforts to fight Republican Governor Bruce Rauner’s assault on the working families of Illinois. “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Jaime Andrade in the Irving Park neighborhood. Jaime has always prioritized working families, from his efforts to build a new Independence Branch Library to supporting meaningful legislation to protect our children and families,” Arena said. “He’s a forward-thinking and hard-working public servant who is going to stand up for middle class families and work tirelessly on behalf of our most vulnerable residents.”
“Governor Rauner has made it clear he will not act to protect our schools, our children and our working families. Jaime Andrade is exactly what Springfield needs – a legislator who isn’t afraid to stand up to the governor,” Ramirez-Rosa said. “I’m proud to endorse his candidacy and call him my state Representative.” Andrade has also received endorsements from the Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) and the Service Employee International Union (SEIU) Illinois State Council for his efforts to stand up to Republican Governor Bruce Rauner’s attacks on the middle class.
