Alderman George Cardenas collectively announced the re-opening of Mi Tierra South, 2528 S. Kedzie, on May 4th. The historic restaurant has been an anchor for traditional Mexican celebration of culture in dining. Alderman Cardenas stated, “The 12th ward continues to flourish due to the strength of our residential business owners and loyalty of neighborhood customers. Little Village is a major cornerstone of Latino culture in Chicago. Together, we make our neighborhoods stronger.” The Fuentes Family, represented by Mr. Ezequiel Fuentes acquired the rights to Mi Tierra with assistance from VIP Real Estate and its representative Simon Cruz. Family Fuentes re-opens this legendary place and has decided to maintain the architecture of this quaint restaurant, as well as the historically famous menu. To ensure the flavor of the food and good service, the same chefs and service staff have been re-hired under the new administration. The Fuentes Family insists on continuing the traditional commitment to provide excellent service, so they will only open a section of the restaurant to meet new and old customer service needs. They are working on the announcement of a Grand Opening soon.
