National arts organization Latino Art Beat (LAB) is in its 20th consecutive year offering scholarship support to the winners of its art and film competition. LAB’s focus is on high school juniors and seniors for the art competition and high school juniors, seniors college students for the film competition. This year, LAB is offering its milestone competition theme: “What Hispanic Heritage and Culture Means to Me?” Artists of any ethnic background may submit colorful artwork reflecting the competition theme. For the Film and Animation Competition, filmmakers must submit short films of 15 minutes or less with original score. Student filmmakers may choose from any one of the following categories: narratives, PSA’s, documentaries or animation. The deadline for the artwork and film competition is Friday, May 26th.
