Howard Brown Health has expanded the scope of services offered at its neighborhood clinic in Englewood to include walk-in screening and treatment for sexual transmitted diseases (STDs) and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The addition of sexual health services at the site follows a decision by the Chicago Department of Public Health to discontinue the Walk-in STD/STI Screening clinic previously located in the same building. According to city officials, the loss of federal funds from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) hastened the decision to close the city STD/STI clinic.
