Chicago Bears defensive backs Prince Amukamara and Kyle Fuller visited Jordan Elementary Community School, 7414 N. Wolcott Ave., on Monday, Sept. 24, at 1 p.m. to kick off the 2018 Bears School Outreach Program. Through a partnership with Youth Guidance, Chicago Bears players make weekly visits to Chicago Public Schools during the season to speak to, motivate and interact with students who are part of the Becoming A Man® (BAM®) and Working On Womanhood℠ (WOW) programs. Youth Guidance offers an array of school-based programs that enable youth in under-resourced communities to succeed academically and in life. Its innovative program, BAM, helps young males in public schools develop social-emotional and cognitive skills that reduce anti-social behavior, dropping out of school, and participating in community violence. The BAM program focuses on six core values: Integrity, Accountability, Self-Determination, Positive Anger Expression, Visionary Goal Setting and Respect for Womanhood. It’s Working on Womanhood℠ program (WOW) focuses on five core values: Self-Awareness, Emotional Intelligence, Healthy Relationships, Visionary Goal-Setting and Leadership.
