Shedd Aquarium will offer twelve days in October when Illinois residents can visit the aquarium free of charge. The free days underscore Shedd’s commitment to allowing everyone an opportunity to come eye to eye with aquatic life – even despite the aquarium’s extended closure earlier this year. Illinois Resident Free Days will look different than previous years, as Shedd has adopted several stringent measures to ensure guests have a safe and enjoyable visit. This includes a severely limited building capacity, timed-ticketing, one-directional pathways throughout the building, mandatory face coverings, readily available hand sanitizer stations and more. Free admission will not be granted to guests who walk up without a reservation. The free days will occur on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays through the month of October. Tickets must be secured ahead of a visit. This can be done on Shedd’s website, www.sheddaquarium.org., or by phone: 312-939-2438.
