As Loretto Hospital prepares to launch COVID-19 vaccine trials in early 2021, the hospital’s clinical team is inviting community questions during an hour-long Facebook Live event, 5:30 to 6:30 pm, Wednesday, January 6. Panelists will include Lois Clarke, M.D., Loretto’s Medical Director of Research, Shilpa Pulluru, M.D., Clinical Research Liaison, and Ali Ahmed, Ph.D., President of Affinity Health, Loretto’s clinical research partner. The event will be moderated by Heather Bergdahl, Loretto Vice President of Transformation. In light of public health officials’ assertions that multiple vaccines will be needed to ensure access and efficacy across all populations, including the Black and Latinx communities disproportionately impacted by the pandemic, the event will provide an open discussion regarding the safety, benefits, and qualifications for vaccine trial participation.
