Last week, the Chicago Department of Public Health hosted multiple COVID-19 vaccination special events across the City – including Lolla Days, Pride themed events, a vaccination event to honor the American Indian heritage, as well as an event at the Swap-O-Rama in Back of the Yards. As part of its equitable distribution strategy, the City is committed to meeting people where they live, work, and play to connect them with their COVID-19 vaccine. Lolla Days consisted of four City of Chicago vaccination sites that were transformed into a Lollapalooza experience for those receiving their COVID-19 vaccines to enjoy. Each site featured DJs and live music, custom Lollapalooza branded giveaways, and meet-and-greets with radio personalities

More than 200 Chicagoans were vaccinated and received their pass to the music festival. Additionally, there were several Pride-themed vaccination events that took place over the weekend including Pride in the Park at Millennium Park and Pride events at Navy Pier. Those that stopped by were able to receive their COVID-19 vaccines and partake in the festivities. The Chicago Department of Public Health also hosted a special COVID-19 vaccination event in front of the American Indian Center on June 22nd in Albany Park. Attendees were treated to live drum and dance performances by The Begay Dance Troup and The Red Line Drum Circle, and automatically entered for free raffles and giveaways.
