In response to Governor J.B. Pritzker’s recent statewide mask mandate for all Pre-K-12 schools, Cicero District 99 has announced masks will be required for all students, staff and visitors for the start of the 2021-2022 school year, regardless of vaccination status. This decision will help to prevent new infections and community spread of the highly contagious COVID-19 Delta variant. In addition to the new mask requirement, all schools across the District will continue to follow and implement the proper safety measures that meet the most updated health standards set by The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and local health officials. The District will also continue to provide free masks, COVID-19 testing and access to COVID-19 vaccinations for all eligible students and for the local community.
