The Whole School Safety Steering Committee, an unprecedented partnership between the Chicago Public Schools administration and five community-based organizations, launched a survey to gather vital data from students, parents, teachers, administrators and community members on a reimagined approach to school safety. The goal is equitably protecting and supporting CPS students. The survey, aimed at the 53 CPS school communities that have or have had school resource officers, can be found and will remain open through March 14.

The Whole School Safety Survey should only take five minutes to complete and will:

Give key stakeholders a chance to offer input on school safety needs and their vision for alternatives to the school resource officer program.

Help the Whole Schools Safety Process Planning Committee, Chicago Public Schools, and partner groups understand the complexities of reimagining school safety at the individual school level.

Ensure that the voices of key stakeholders are heard in the school safety planning process.

Shape each individual school’s safety plan for the next school year.
