Healthgrades announced on March 14th, 2023 the winners of the 2023 Patient Safety Excellence Award. Humboldt Park Health (HPH), formerly named Norwegian American Hospital, has been recognized as a 2023 Patient Safety Excellence Award™ recipient. This distinction places HPH at the top 10 percent in the Nation for Patient Safety. This marks the 2nd year that HPH has achieved this prestigious recognition. This year’s award positions HPH as the only hospital in Chicago’s West side to do so this year. “Patient safety is our top priority. • Fifty-Two percent less likely to experience a collapsed lung resulting from a procedure or surgery in or around the chest, than patients treated at non-recipient hospitals*

• Sixty-Six percent less likely to experience pressure sores or bed sores acquired in the hospital, than patients treated at non-recipient hospitals*

• Sixty-Seven percent less likely to experience catheter-related bloodstream infections acquired in the hospital, than patients treated at non-recipient hospitals*
