Committed to making Illinois a more humane place and advancing compassionate treatment legislation, state Rep. Elizabeth ‘Lisa’ Hernandez, D-Cicero, received a 100 percent on the 2023 Humane Society Scorecard. “In Illinois, we care about our animals and work with stakeholders like the Humane Society to eliminate abusive practices, encourage adoption and be advocates for these innocent creatures,” Hernandez said. “I am proud and honored to have received this perfect score, and I will continue to work with the Humane Society and dedicated advocates on future legislative priorities.”  The 2023 Humane Society Scorecard tracks the voting records for state legislators on critical issues facing animal welfare including ending abusive treatments and supporting caregivers and centers for animals. This year’s scorecard tracked six pieces of legislation during the spring session:
