On Tuesday, April 2nd, Commissioner Frank J. Aguilar partnered with Commissioner Maggie Trevor, Commissioner Tara Stamps, local Chambers of Commerce, the Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center (IMEC), Cook County’s Bureau of Economic Development, and Leyden Township for a Manufacturing Reinvented seminar and workshop in Leyden Township. The event, which attracted over 25 organizations, was held to inform suburban manufacturers about available grants for their businesses and offer onsite application assistance. Manufacturing Reinvented is a $5 million grant program that supports local manufacturers in implementing projects to improve their business’ competitiveness as they continue to rebound and rebuild from the COVID-19 pandemic. This program offers a highly customizable approach to address specific company needs related to accessing customers and new markets, operational improvements, leadership development and talent solutions. Manufacturing Reinvented Grants are funded through the Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center, in partnership with Cook County’s Bureau of Economic Development, to boost operations for manufacturers and businesses over a wide range of subjects.  The Melrose Park Chamber of Commerce and Community Development, the Grand Chamber By O’Hare, and the Northwest Hispanic Chamber of Commerce sponsored this event, and worked with local elected officials to increase turnout and expand the reach of these grant opportunities for the businesses in their chambers and the communities they serve.  To learn more about the Manufacturing Reinvented grant program, please visit www.ccmfg.org/
