The Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County hosted a series of Orders of Protection Train-the-Trainer Programs on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, for local domestic violence agencies and local elected officials to better serve their constituents. Orders of Protection are legal orders issued by a judge to help protect individuals from domestic violence, stalking, harassment, and other forms of abuse. “The effects of domestic violence can be far-reaching and long-lasting, not just for the victims but also for their families and communities,” said Clerk Iris Y. Martinez. “Despite the progress made to help victims of abuse, there is still much work to be done.” The Train the Trainer program will feature presentations from the Clerk of the Circuit Court, Cook County Sheriff, State’s Attorney, and local Domestic Violence Advocates, as well as opportunities for attendees to ask questions and receive guidance on how to navigate the legal system. Below are the locations, dates and times of other workshops:

• Bridgeview: August 29, 11:30 am to 1:30 pm
