The Beverly Arts Center proudly presents BEYOND THE DOOR, a transformative stage play directed by the nine-time Jeff Award recipient E Faye Butler. The show, which will debut Sept. 13-15, 2024, is a story that reflects the raw and personal story based on an adaption of the memoir Who Said it Couldn’t Be Done? by Chicago author Denise Jones, which chronicles her journey through life on Chicago’s west side – from poverty, incest, drug addiction, incarceration, and lesbianism – to eventually gaining sobriety, spiritual redemption, and inner peace.  With over 30 years of theatrical excellence, Butler leads a stellar cast and crew in an unforgettable journey that transcends boundaries. Playwright Mary Q. Angel joins forces to create the diverse narratives in BEYOND THE DOOR, with Tony-nominated actress Felicia P. Fields serving as music director and supervisor.
