The Chicago Pre-College Science and Engineering Program (ChiS&E), a national leader in K-12 STEM education, welcomes a new class of future innovators with this week’s parent orientation. ChiS&E’s bold multi-year, math-first, building-block approach has graduates excelling at top universities including Yale, Purdue, Howard and Illinois. ChiS&E’s high-spirited orientation session will provide opportunities for engaging photos, video and interviews. Parents at the orientation will learn about ChiS&E’s distinct advantages that prepare young people to attain bachelors and advanced degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The program:
• Focuses on math, analysis and hands-on learning. From a young age, students become comfortable with algebra, geometry, physics, computer programming and calculus. Those are the building blocks students use in class to design bridges and create inventions.
• Fully partners with parents, even if they know little about STEM. The program succeeds because ChiS&E values parents’ role as their child’s lifelong teacher and counselor. ChiS&E parents don’t just drop off their kids. They participate in their child’s success and work with ChiS&E to elevate their student’s aspirational horizons.
