City Clerk Anna Valencia’s CityKey program, Chicago’s municipal ID, celebrates seven years this week by highlighting the local businesses partners that offer discounts as a part of the card’s benefits. “With almost 150,000 CityKeys distributed, my office is ready to expand our business partnership program to help Chicago businesses grow and serve as a resource for our local businesses,” Valencia said. “Our goal is to not only uplift our business community but also give Chicagoans more opportunities to enjoy their city without breaking the bank.” To offer more support for CityKey business partners, the Office of the City Clerk is hosting an event with Business Affairs and Consumer Protection on Friday to share more resources the City has to offer our businesses.  Beginning this week, CityKey will also highlight some of their longest standing business partners through daily videos on their social media featuring Brown Sugary Bakery, Monarch Thrift Shop, Self Help Credit Union and Lawndale Christian Fitness Center. Businesses interested in signing up to partner with CityKey can do so by filing out the Business Partnership Form.  CityKey is a free and optional government-issued 4-in-1 ID serving as a Ventra card, library and Chicago Rx Prescription Discount Card available to all Chicagoans and can be obtained through the City Clerk’s mobile printing events.
