Illinois held its primary election on Tuesday, June 28th with a slew of seats up for grabs, as all 59 state Senate offices were open, and 118 state House seats. All 17 Illinois Congressional seats were contested, as was one of the US Senate seats for the state. The Illinois Supreme Court had a race as well, with the 2nd District seeing both Republican and Democratic contested primaries. According to the State Board of Elections, voter turnout was low with only 1 in 5 Chicago voters heading to the polls. Among the primary election winners include:
