Greater West Town Project (GWTP) welcomes the West Side community to its first annual Open House on August 14th (2:30 pm – 6:00 pm) at its facility on the West Side of Chicago (534 N. Sacramento Blvd, Chicago, IL 60612). GWTP is hosting an Open House to raise awareness of its programming by inviting Chicagoans from Humboldt Park, East Garfield Park, West Garfield Park, Austin, North Lawndale, and Belmont Cragin to tour the facility and hear from our program staff. GWTP also seeks to build community in our surrounding neighborhoods that have been hard hit by poverty, unemployment, and gun violence. GWTP has nearly 40 years of experience providing job training, placement, and education at no cost to eligible participants. GWTP’s Vocational Training (Woodworking, Shipping & Receiving, and soon to launch Allied Health) provides intensive training in growing industries. GWTP’s Career Pathways program provides job readiness training and placement to youth and adults, with 12-months of support after placement. GWTP also operates two alternative high schools, West Town Academy and YCCS West High School for young people who have been unsuccessful in traditional high schools. GWTP’s Open House is free to attend with the support of our sponsors Brenford Brown and Associates (BB&A) and Hyatt Hotels.
