Almost Home Kids, an organization devoted to transitional care for children with complicated health needs, hosted the grand opening of its new care facility in the Ronald McDonald House building in Chicago on Monday, Sept. 17. Almost Home Kids, the first facility of its kind in the nation, serves as a post-hospital care setting where families of children who are medically fragile can learn to care for any special needs their child’s condition requires in a home-like setting. It also provides respite care for the families of children who require around the clock nursing care. Almost Home Kids has been operating a facility in Naperville since 1999. The Almost Home Kids new facility is located on 211 E. Grand Ave on floor six of the new Ronald McDonald House.
