Official Launch of the Illinois Latino Family Commission

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - BusinessThe Illinois Latino Family Commission held its official launch last Friday Nov. 1, 2013. It was a very important event for what the Commission means for the Latino community in Illinois. Governor Pat Quinn attended the event and addressed the audience precisely emphasizing the importance of the Commission for Hispanics and likewise for the Government since the Commission reports to the Government on matters pertaining to the Latino community and the Government acts according to those reports. Quinn acknowledged the commendable work done by the Executive Director, Dr. Layla Suleiman González and its staff placing the Commission in a level of importance in the state in a very short time. Several Latino Caucus Legislators and CEOs of many Latino nonprofit state agencies also attended. In total over 100 people attended this event which was the official launched of the Illinois Latino Family Commission, citing Dr. Suleiman Gonzalez, “This is an achievement by Hispanics for Hispanics.”
