University of St. Francis (USF) student Ulises Ornelas is one of 20 nationwide to receive the Dr. Juan Andrade Scholarship for Young Hispanic Leaders.
The scholarship award was presented at the 31st Annual National Conference of the United States Hispanic Leadership Institute (USHLI) in Chicago, Feb. 13-16, which Ornelas attended with 22 other USF students
Ornelas of Joliet earned this prestigious scholarship for both his dedication in school and his service to the community, where he participated in voter registration campaigns, driver’s licenses for immigrants campaigns and the community campaign against for-profit prisons.
