On Sunday, Jan. 3rd Fox is set to debut their new animated comedy by Family Guy’s Mark Hentemann and executive producer Seth MacFarlane, called BORDERTWON set in a Southwest desert town on the U.S.-Mexico border where two families, the Buckwald’s and the Gonzalez’s coexist. BORDERTOWN takes a satirical look at the cultural shifts happening in America and was exactly what drew actor Nicholas Gonzalez (Sleepy Hollow) to voice the lead role of Ernesto Gonzalez, an ambitious family man who in less than ten years living in America is already ahead of his neighbor, Bud Buckwald, voiced by Hank Azaria (The Simpsons). “BORDERTOWN really is a satirical approach to all that is happening currently in U.S. politics and highlights cultural identities and relationships in a fresh and funny way,” said Gonzalez, over a phone interview with Lawndale Bilingual Newspaper. “I cannot reveal too much before the debut, but I know audiences will enjoy the friendship between Ernesto and Bud.” The newly anticipated series stars Hank Azaria, Alex Borstein, Missi Pyle and Judah Friedlander. Consulting producers include Lalo Alcaraz (La Cucaracha) and Gustavo Arellano (Ask a Mexican). BORDERTOWN is produced by 20th Century Fox Television. “This series couldn’t be timelier considering what has been said about Latinos from certain Republican candidates. I hope people enjoy BORDERTOWN, laugh, and appreciate the satire,” said Gonzalez.
