ComEd and the Chicago Park District kicked off the summer season with their second annual “Switch on Summer” event by turning on the Buckingham Fountain on Saturday, May 7th. “Chicagoans persevere as one community through winters, so it’s really fun to be part of such a great tradition that symbolizes the beginning of summer,” said Paula Conrad, Senior Manager of Corporate Relations. “It’s not very often that we are lucky enough to have our non-profit partners all in one place, so to bring all of these organizations together to officially “switch on summer” is really special.” With the help of WGN’s “Around Town” reporter Ana Belaval, the event consisted of free giveaways, family activities, live entertainment, and a special meet and greet with animals from Brookfield Zoo.
