Cook County Commissioner Jeffrey Tobolski and Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle announced that after securing funding to develop affordable housing units in Summit, the homes are now developed and ready for occupancy. Located in the 16th District of Cook County, the housing development consists of 18, two story townhomes scattered along the south-end of Summit. In anticipation of future open houses, Commissioner Tobolski recently visited a fully staged model home located on the 7600 block of West 63rd Place. He expects these homes will build on the existing assets of the community where young families can grow and integrate to the community of Summit. Known as the Summit Housing Initiative, Cook County secured approximately $4.4 million through a federal U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grant. Each property features three bedrooms, 2.5 baths, full kitchen with granite countertop, high efficiency furnace and appliances, and two car garage with a full yard. More information on these homes can be obtained by contacting the listing agent, Eduardo Garcia with Realty of Chicago at 708-768-7412.
