New Music Meets New Tech

Fulcrum Point New Music Project collaborates with the Morelia, Michoacan-based Mexican Centre for Music and the Sonic Arts to present ¡Revolución! featuring electroacoustic music from Mexican composers, plus the unique opportunity for audience members to control the performance via new technology, at Constellation (3111 N. Western Ave,, Chicago) in one performance only, Sunday, October 28 at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $10-15 and will be available at www.constellation-chicago.com. ¡Revolución! is an interactive concert experience. Program highlights include the World Premiere of a groundbreaking electroacoustic work from renowned Yucatan-based composer Javier Álvarez as part of the MacArthur Foundation International Connections Grant. Both fluid and flexible, the instrumental solos in the piece are augmented by electronic music created in collaboration with students from Latina Girls Code and The People’s Music School. ¡Revolución! is supported by the MacArthur Foundation and the Mexican Centre for Music and the Sonic Arts (CMMAS).
