The 35th annual Printers Row Lit Fest, presented by the Near South Planning Board, is proud to announce its participating authors and programming highlights. The much-anticipated 2019 Printers Row Lit Fest, the largest free outdoor literary showcase in the Midwest, will have an expanded outdoor presence, taking place along Dearborn Street from Dearborn Station to the newly named Ida B. Wells Drive (formerly Congress Parkway), rain or shine, Saturday – Sunday, June 8 – 9, from 10a.m. to 6p.m. This year, the Printers Row Lit Fest will present powerful, social justice-focused voices, including Alex Kotlowitz and Valerie Jarrett, plus anti-violence activist Eve Ensler. Kotlowitz, a nationally recognized journalist, bestselling author, and award-winning filmmaker, introduces his most recent work, An American Summer: Love and Death in Chicago. More than 100,000 visitors are expected during the two-day festival, which will also host over 100 booksellers offering everything from the tattered to the rare to ‘hot off the press,’ newly published works.
