Effective this week, the Chicago Park District will modify park operations and services in accordance with “Restore Illinois”, the State’s response plan to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. All Chicago Park District in-person programming is suspended until further notice. The District will continue to offer a vast selection of virtual programs and experiences to keep families active and engaged. Chicago Park District fieldhouses will remain open for washrooms and shelter during the regular hours of operation.  With the exception of parkland east of Lake Shore Drive, the lakefront trail and outdoor park spaces remain open to provide brief respite during the City of Chicago’s Stay At Home advisory. Large gatherings and close contact activities are prohibited and social distancing must be observed at all times. Trail users are required to keep it moving. Masks are mandatory. Acceptable activities include walking, running and hiking in our outdoor spaces alone or with members of the same household.
