The Loretto Hospital will hold a Community Job Fair on Saturday, Aug. 28, from 10 am to 2 pm, in the Harrison Street parking lot, adjacent to the hospital’s emergency room entrance. On-site, walk-up interviews will be conducted to fill more than 70 positions, including openings for RNs, public safety officers, environmental service aides, food service aides, patient care technicians, and hospital sitters. Loretto has served as a safety net hospital on Chicago’s West side for almost a century. The hospital is the largest, non-government employer in the Austin community, where the unemployment rate is currently 10 percent, more than a third higher than the city at-large. Maya and Kimberly Dawson, human resources generalist, will host an informational session via Facebook Live at 4 pm on Wednesday, Aug. 25, to outline and answer questions regarding the job openings and the hospital’s commitment to offering competitive wages/benefits and opportunities for advancement.
